I LOVE CLOTHES!

Almost everyone I know loves shopping clothes and I would proudly say that I am one of them. Unfortunately, I was one of the people who are always on a tight budget and buying designer’s clothes isn’t part of my priorities. Thank God we have these thrift shops or to what we commonly know as ukay-ukay.

From the word itself, it means we really have to “dig” in order to find good and in still in shape clothes. What I really like about it is that you are pretty sure that your clothes don’t coexist with others. You can guarantee complete uniqueness and be fashionable at a lower cost that is if you’re really patient and prepared to compete with others in “digging”.

What I usually do is do ittengouka-shugi. In British and European fashion, this means mixing high and low items, but in this case it refers to getting one luxury item and mixing it up with affordable brands.

As what you have notice, I am aiming for this “Koreanesque” and “Japanesque” look. I always like the “loose” style coz I love to move around (and it hides away the belly.LOL)

My mama supports me about my quite addicting nature. She even comes with me if she has a budget on her own. She even said that I had good taste and stuff. Unfortunately, she’s not as patient as me so she sometimes ends up buying much more expensive ukays.

I have an aunt who shares the same passion as I and I would say that she was the one who inspired me.

She even hands me down some of her blouses which are pretty cool. (Luckily enough, we have the same body type and height so it definitely suited me.)

Sometimes, if I’m lucky enough, I’ll find some of my blouses when I was a kid. I always believe that fashion just repeats almost every season but of course with modifications and changes. Like this blouse, if I remembered correctly, I had this when I was in 6th grade. f course, at that time, I only wore this as a dress since I was pretty lanky at that time. Now I wore it as a blouse with a shirt and jeans underneath it. I was able to give the “arty look”. Some of my friends love it too.

So basically, that’s it. I always say to myself that you don’t have to spend more to be fashionable. So to those who aspire to be fashionable at a lower cost, all you have to do is have a little patience, a little money, and enough fashion ideas and then you’re good to go.

God Bless!
